Tee-Ball

A couple of months ago, i was cruising around the web and happened upon the Meridian P.A.L. website. It was advertising baseball sign-ups for their U5 league. U5?!? They actually let kids younger than 5 play baseball?!? I was very surprised and even more excited to sign Allison up. The teams are made up of 3 and 4 year olds and she just had her first game today. It was a riot! They let every kid on the team hit the ball and run the bases. Then they switch sides. Most of them still don't quite understand what to do after they hit it. But the best part is when they are in the field and someone hits the ball, you see at least 6 kids run in from all over trying to get the ball first. Once they get it, they don't quite know what to do next. Luckily there are coaches all over the field helping them out.

Team picture. Allison is second from the left, with the purple glove.

Most of the time, Allison is off in her own little world. She seems more interested in picking grass or kicking dirt than what's going on in the game. But she's definitely not the only one. Notice the ball on the ground off to the left? She didn't!

Here's a quick video of her first ever base hit!

Summertime!

Well I guess it's not officially summer yet, but it sure feels like it. With temperatures up into the 90's this week, Alli decided it was time to break out the swimsuit and the Dora sprinkler. (Thanks Nic and Elaine!)

Sexy swimsuit models:

Allison doesn't mind getting wet as long as it's not her face

McKenna didn't like it at all and got as far away from the water as possible

Growing Up

Don't you just love it when kids start dressing themselves?
STRIPED socks and PLAID shoes together? I guess we'll forgive her though because she IS wearting Bronco socks!

The Most Beautiful Flower

We were getting ready to go to my nephew's baseball game last night and he couldn't find his glove. I went outside with him so we could go look in the garage. We didn't find it, but we did find a backpack full of old gloves belonging to me and TJ. He settled on one that he could borrow until his glove was found. With that taken care of, we headed back inside to finish getting ready. Imagine my surprise when I turned the corner toward the front door and there was McKenna sitting in my flower bed scratching at the dirt. I knew I had closed the door behind me when I went outside but apparently it didn't catch. She somehow managed to pull the door open, climbed down the 3 cement stairs that lead up to the house, and sat happily playing in the dirt and squishing my pansies.

1st Birthday

It's hard to believe, but our little McKenna is now a whole year old. To celebrate we had some friends and family over for a barbecue. Here's a few pictures we took. I especially like the one of Noah eating McKenna's cake. He climbed up on the chair, grabbed a fork and dug in. McKenna didn't like it too much so at least it didn't go to waste!

It's All Uphill From Here

Well folks, she's at it again - this time managing to sneak into the fridge for the split second it was left open.
If you look closely you can see a small piece of tortilla poking out of her mouth.

Allison didn't mind sharing McKenna's findings.

Enjoying the spoils.

The two extra tortillas that they only nibbled on, thus wasting perfectly good food.
The kicker here is that Allison is the one that actually opened the fridge. Usually when McKenna starts getting into things Allison will yell, first at McKenna and then for me to come help.
But not this time. This time she kept quiet and just waited for me to come find the mess. I think she secretly wanted to have a snack and she just let her little sister do the dirty work. We're in for a lot of trouble in the future with these two.

Apparently McKenna wanted some oatmeal

Or maybe she just wanted to make a mess.

She did manage to open the rice crispies and dump a few of them out for a snack.

And then she was done

Side note: TJ found her a couple of minutes later with her hand playing in toilet water.
